of the ASHRAE
ASHRAE Meetings
Meetings of the Baltimore
Chapter of ASHRAE are generally held at 7:00 pm at the Engineering Society of
Baltimore on the first or second Thursday of the month. The meetings are typically preceded by a
related Technical Session at 5:00 pm and a social hour at 6:00. Please consult the chapter calendar for exact
dates and details, and for special events.
There is usually one facility tour scheduled each year on a regular
meeting date which requires early registration by all attendees. Make your reservations as early as possible
with the Attendance/Reception Chair below.
All meetings will be advertised in the Thermogram upon its
publication. For additional questions on

Meeting: Thursday February 5, 2012 at the ESB with Accompanying Tour
Thursday, February 5th, 6:00 - 9:00
PM
This
month is a factory tour of Phillips Seafood Refrigeration Plant in Baltimore.
The
tour buses will leave from the ESB beginning at 6:00 pm and rotate through
until 8:30 pm.
Hors d'oeuvres will be served at the ESB
during this time period.
Past Meetings
May 5, 2011:
Daylighting Controls; main meeting on ASHRAE Std 189.1
"Standard for the Design
of High Performance Green Buildings", at the
ESB. This was also Student Night and
awards were presented.
September 8, 2011:
Annual Kickoff & Networking
meeting, promoting ASHRAE membership, and product show.
October 6, 2011: "ASHRAE Procedure for Commercial
Building Energy Audits" presented at the ESB.
November 3, 2011: "The History of Airside
Economizers" and "Where
do we go from here?" presented at the ESB.
December 2, 2011: "62nd Annual ASHRAE Baltimore
Christmas Party" at the Timonium Fairgrounds.
January 5, 2012: "Future Trends in Energy Simulation" at the
ESB, with the Tech Session on "Concrete
Fastening Systems".

ASHRAE Board of Governors
Meeting - February 2, 2012 (all board members must attend)
The next Board of Governors
meeting will be held on February 2, 2012
prior to the chapter meeting at the ESB.
Please note that any
ASHRAE chapter member may attend a board meeting, and
that all committee chairs are encouraged to be present. For more information on this meeting please

Consult the latest issue of the
Thermogram for the following upcoming events:
- YEA
(Young Engineers in ASHRAE) will party on February 16, 2012 at the Stalking
Horse bar in Federal Hill.
- The annual ASHRAE Baltimore Spring Event will continue a successful string of
Casino Royale Night events, this year at the Baltimore Museum of Industry on
Friday, April 20th, 2012.
- The chapter's Golf Outing & Banquet will take place at the traditional
location of Turf Valley Country Club in Ellicott City on Friday, June 1, 2012.
- The ASHRAE Baltimore Chapter will host the Chapter Regional Conference this year,
August 10-11, 2012. The CRC will be held
at the ESB and Peabody Court.

Christmas Party took place on Friday, December 2nd, at the Timonium

ASHRAE Board of Governors Meetings
For

ASHRAE YEA Happy Hour
The Young Engineers in ASHRAE (YEA)
celebrated an awesome Happy Hour at the Mex Tequila Bar in Baltimore,
on Thursday May 26th from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.

ASHRAE Golf Outing
The annual chapter Golf
Outing was held on Friday, June 3, 2011 at the Turf Valley Country
Club in Ellicott City. Information on
this annual event can be attained by contacting the event chairperson, R.L.

ASHRAE Region III CRC 2011
Region III held its CRC 2010 on
August 12th and 13th this year at the Anthracite Chapter in Scranton, PA. More information on the event can be found

There are 13 local ASHRAE
chapters in our region covering Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia;
each year the CRC rotates from chapter to chapter. Please direct any followup conference

ASHRAE Baltimore Spring Event
The chapter spring event, Casino
Night, was held on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at the National Aquarium
in Baltimore from 8:00 pm until 12:00 midnight.
The event was successful as always.
