Historical Note:

The Baltimore Chapter of ASHRAE lost another valuable member this past March.  John L. Stasiak, Chairman of M. Nelson Barnes & Sons, Inc., a Baltimore area Mechanical/Sheetmetal Contractor, rose from humble beginnings to become a successful leader and also a quiet philanthropist.  In 1998, he established the John L. Chapters Regional Conference (Region III):

This year ASHRAE Region III will be holding its Chapters Regional Conference (CRC) on August 14, 15 and 16, 2008 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.  There are 13 local ASHRAE chapters in our region covering Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia; each year the CRC rotates from chapter to chapter.  For those ASHRAE Baltimore volunteers required to attend please make your reservations or contact Jennifer Leach at president @ashrae-balto.org.  Please direct any conference questions to Gary Debes at gdebes @klingstubbins.com, or to Jennifer Leach.

Spring Seminar:

Course instruction for the 6‑week course entitled "Fundamentals of Psychrometrics" was shared by Ken Frazier, PE, LEED APTM, currently our ASHRAE Chair for Student Activities, and Jennifer Leach, PE, LEED APTM, currently our ASHRAE President.  The Baltimore ASHRAE chapter will continue to offer more such opportunities to our professional community in the future.  Completing the full course requirements were 23 students; all students earned Professional Development Hours (PDH) for this ASHRAE course.

 

Companion Night:  (LA$ VEGA$ NIGHT) was a great success again this year.  Thanks to all those who made the night special, including the chapter Special Events CONTACT, Joe Yakim (specialevents @ashrae-balto.org, 410-780-0600).

 

The Building Commissioning Association presented "Commission LEED Buildings" on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at the Appalachian Brewing Company in Harrisburg, PA.  See THIS FLYER for more details.
